Hi there, friends! This is the last post I’ll do in 2023. It’s also the time of year I like to reflect on the journey I’ve taken over the last 365 days. But don’t worry, I won’t do that reflection in this post. Instead, I want this post to help YOU with 10 questions to reflect on 2023 and prepare for 2024.
Reflecting on 2023
You have a week until 2024 gets underway, and I need you to do something for yourself. Take 15 minutes in the next week to think about this past year, and write down answers to these questions in your journal:
- What were your goals, and did you achieve them?
- What successes did you have?
- What challenges did you experience?
- What lessons did you learn?
- How do you feel about your situation in life today, compared to a year ago?
Preparing for 2024
Then take the next 15 minutes to think about the upcoming year, and write down the answers to these questions as well:
- What are your goals and outcomes for 2024?
- What actions will you need to take to achieve those goals and outcomes?
- What did you do in 2023 that you need to repeat in 2024?
- What did you do in 2024 you need to revise in 2024?
- How do you want to feel in one year, as compared to day?
These 10 questions are a simple, but effective way to reflect on the past year, and get organized for the next. If you get on a roll and want to spend more than 30 minutes to flesh out all the details, that’s great. But at least spend the 30 minutes to get some solid thoughts outlined before the end of the year.

But take some time to enjoy the season for what it is: a time to be thankful and joyous. (Even if your family/friends/coworkers drive you up a wall)
